Brief Biography Of Aba
Shanti I / Falasha
Aba was introduced to 'Roots & Culture' by his father
Alan (he ran a sound system) at a early age.
He went on to become the M.C. for 'Jah Tubby's Sound', travelling
up and down the country chatting his conscious lyrics over heavy
dub plate mixes.
The coming of 'Ragga-Muffin / Dancehall' music (sic) in the 80's
, Roots sound systems were forced to take a back seat or to shutdown
Fortunately Aba never lost his vibe or his belief in the 'Father'
and after taking over the running of 'Jah Tubby's' set made his
debut at the 1990 Leicester Carnival playing his own brand of
In 1993 along with his brothers Blood Shanti / Shanti Roots and
brethren Samari (Shanti-Ites) released their first single 'Tear
Down Babylon' (Aba 001.)
After the success of this single they released another single
in late 1994
entitled 'Zulu Warrior' (Aba 002).
The response was so positive that in late 1995 the Shanti-Ites
along with some like minded brethren decided to form a record
company to release their brand of conscious music.
This company was Falasha Recordings' and the first release on
this new label was 'Positive Vibration' (Aba 12001).
1996 saw the first album release from this new company which
'The Wrath Of Jah' (Aba CD/LP 001) featuring a small selection
of the vast catalogue of dubs that we have in store for you.
The next release was the debut vocal album by Blood Shanti 'Pure
(Aba CD/LP 002) featuring the first elease by the Shanti-ites
'Tear Down Babylon'.
The next release was the debut vocal album by Blood Shanti

which was released in Dec'96 and is another step in our musical
has been mentioned that we should include sample text from the
speeches of H.I.M.
But as these are readily available in various forms elsewhere, and
access to them is not limited. We feel that anybody that wants
to read those text should read the fullness rather than a small
section. For only then will they gain the wisdom of H.I.M words.
To all the people that turned up or sent in their tapes for
the auditions, thanks. It is strange to hear other people playing
our music and to hear and see how they have locked into the vibe.
Also the different interpretations given to various tracks by
the people concerned. We had a diverse mixture of players of instruments
and instruments themselves. Some of already been invited to lay
down a vibe on a work in progress track.
