ONE AT THE SOUTHALL COMMUNITY CENTRE ON THE 15th SEPT AND THE OTHER AT THE 'WEST INDIAN CENTRE' LAYCOCK ROAD LEEDS ON THE 27th SEPT. NOW I KNOW THAT LEEDS IS A LONG WAY TO TRAVEL FOR THOSE PEOPLE BASED SOUTH OF THE WATFORD GAP, BUT SOUTHALL ISN'T. I WOULD HAVE EXPECTED A FEW MORE PEOPLE TO HAVE TURNED OUT TO SUPPORT THE VERY GOOD CAUSE OF CULTURAL AWARENESS AT SOUTHALL, BASED ON THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO REGULARLY PAY TO ATTEND AN 'ABA SHANTI' SESSION AT THE SAME VENUE.
LEEDS,WHAT CAN I SAY. IN AN AREA SUCH AS CHAPELTOWN WHICH IS THE CENTRE OF THE BLACK COMMUNITY IN LEEDS. IF A FREE EVENT CANNOT BRING YOU OUT OF WHEREVER YOU RESIDE TO COME AND TUNE IN, WHAT WILL ? MAYBE IF THE BOTH EVENTS WERE CHARGEABLE RATHER THAN FREE MORE PEOPLE WOULD HAVE MADE AN EFFORT TO ATTEND. I AM NOT COMPLAINING JUST ON BEHALF OF THE TWO EVENTS MENTIONED, BUT FOR ALL THE FREE EVENTS PUT ON FOR THE BENEFIT OF THEIR RESPECTIVE AREAS.PEOPLE IF YOU DO NOT SUPPORT YOUR COMMUNITY, HOW CAN YOUR COMMUNITY SUPPORT YOU!!!!

: In response to the numerous people who have indicated on the questionaire that they would like to see Aba Shanti-I in session with Jah Shaka.There is nothing we would like better than to engage in a thanks and praise giving session with Jah Shaka. But only time will tell if this will become a reality.
Just a word in your ears to alleviate any concerns that you may have regarding this newsletter and ourselves.We are not any of the following:Terrorists/ Misogamists/False Prophets/Criminals/ Subversives or disciples of The Anti-Christ. Neither are we trying to foster a Psuedo Religious cult/A Political Party or amassing an army to overthrow the elected government.; no matter what some people might have you believe.
All we are doing is trying to provide a means of education and communication,so that YOU will want to become part of the larger community and by your involvement bring about the social changes that are so necessary.In 10 to 15 years time WE will be the people whom the young will look upon (if the changes are not made) and ask "So why did'nt YOU do something dad/mum?"

Mystical Numbers 9 & 7
The number 9 is the only number that when it is multiplied by any other number (no matter how large that number is)and the individual numbers of the answer are added together the result is always 9
eg: 9 x 6000 = 54000....5 + 4 + 0 +0 + 0 = 9
9 x 50 = 450....... 4 + 5 + 0 = 9
Revelatiuon states that only 144,000 of the children of Israel will be saved.That is 12,000 from each tribe.
If you add the individual number of that figure together the result is 9.The number 7 is another mystical number that appears time and time again in the Bible.In the next issue I will go into this number in a little more detail.
If anybody would like to contribute to this debate concerning the occurance of the above mentioned numbers,please send in your arguements and findings so we can all benefit.

I was at the dance in Southall on the 29/11/96 and it was good to see the event
being supported so well by such a wide cross section of Jah's people. Especially nice to see the gentleman in the wheel chair taking in the vibe.
We are all one community regardless of age,race ,gender creed or disability.
Also nice to speak to Gill from Finchley
at Trendz nightspot.We are all"exiles", either from our homes or ourselves!
I was also at the clash between Aba and Boomshakalaka (respect to Russ and Lol) held at Southall on the20/12/96 and a wicked little vibe it was too.
So all you people out there, the Humble One is watching you,watching us and reporting it in this newsletter.
JUNE 1997 :..............As mentioned on the front cover.We are in the process of setting up a musical collective to be known as:The Shanti-Ites,and we would like to hear from anybody that feels the vibe.
We know this is a radical departure from the way that most bands are set up ie; offering a
chance to people who's only involvement in the recording industry is buying the records.
As I have stated before,the questionaire was done so that we could see how we could improve our service to our customers based on their responses and to implement the changes for the benefit of all.This is one such change.This is not a gimmick or some piece of sensationalism. But a true and honest way of progression.
There will be NO discrimination.
So if you've heard the music and felt the vibe and feel that you could play a part in the band, then please contact the mail order address.
No timewasters please.This is a serious offer.Too many record companies remain detached and have an off hand way in how they deal with the very people that are providing them with a living. Also some people are having difficulty in obtaining our products in their areas. To redress this inbalance Falasha Recordings will have a stall at most if not all of Aba's dances and shows.So that you can come and buy our products and speak to us directly about our business and associated matters concerning Aba- Shanti-I.
Be warned this is not a counselling service. But that does not mean we cannot have a friendly chat.

sample text from the speeches of H.I.M.
But as these are readily available in various forms elsewhere,and access to them is not limited,we feel that anybody that wants to read those text should read the fullness rather than a small section.For only then will they gain the wisdom of H.I.M words.As a company we are trying to do the best we can in our own small way to break down the barriers that divide us and to build bridges to reach those who feel that they are marooned on an island in a troubled sea.

Falashas; Some scholars place the date of their origin before the 2 century bc, largely because the Falashas are unfamiliar with either the Babylonian or Palestinian Talmud. The Bible of the Falashas is written in an archaic Semitic dialect, known as Gecez, and the Hebrew Scriptures are unknown to them. The name Falasha is Amharic for "exiles" or "landless ones"; the Falashas themselves refer to their sect as Beta Esrael ("House of Israel").
The word Jah comes from the word Jahweh or Jehovah meaning :He that causes it to be.

Mystical Numbers 9 & 7
From the previous issue you will see that if you add the individual numbers of a quoted figure in the Bible or any religious text the resultant number usually is either a 7 or 9 ie:
Haile Selassie was the 225th king in line from King Solomon,the son of King David. (2+2+5=9).The term 'Seven Times' as quoted in Revelations can be calculated with reference to various verses in the Bible.
Revelations 12:6:14 ; speaks of 3.5 (three and a half) being 1260 days.(1+2+6+0=9)
Therefore 7 is equal to 3.5 x 2 so 7=1260 x 2 = 2520 days. (2+5+2+0=9)
Numbers 14:30 ;God's rule is a day for a year.
Ezekial 4:6 ;God's appointed each day for a year.
Therefore 2520 days equals 2520 years.
So if we find out the year the 'Reign of Nations' started, add 2520 years,we will know the start date of the opening of the 'Seven Seals'.
When do think,the start date was ????What is the 'Reign of Nations'????These are answers that you need to find.I

The live showcase at 'Sam Fays' in Nottingham was a great success and it was really nice to see so many familiar faces that had travelled to support us.

It was a nice evening of meditation at Southall for the 'Rastafari Teaching Tour' How good and pleasant it was to see,nuff lovers of good music in attendance.
The sun and the people came out for the Hackney Downs free festival on 5th July. After two weeks of torrential rain.
I was there running our stall, chatting with the people and taking photographs of the throng.
These photographs will be used in a montage for one of our cd releases.Which one? You'll just have to wait and see.
The dance at Southall on 25/07/97 featuring Joey Jay,Jah Trinity and Aba was well attended and apart from the enviromental health turning up,a nice time was had by all.
I was at the 'Maat Centre' the following night when Aba and Jah Youth were in session and positive vibes abounded.
Leicester Carnival was a great day.
The word had gone round that Aba was not going to show.I admit we did turn up later than we would have liked.But when we did arrive and the sound was assembled the people and the sun came out.What a nice vibe was generated by all of you that attended,

Nice to meet and talk to Asher from Bristol,Skorpi from Arkology,Glamour from Brum (ex Leicester-ite) and the numerous people that came to the stall to chat,One love.
Aba played Megadog's 'Lizard Festival' held in Cornwall on the 9th August and it was good to be able to bring our vibe to a cross section of Jah's people we had not up until this time been able to reach and to see them lock into the vibe.
Remember Jesus was a hippy/alternative lifestyle advocate and was shunned by those who did not want to see the Status Quo changed.
Respect to Eamonn and Michael Dog and hope to work with you again in the near future.

DECEMBER 1997 :..............Blood Shanti's 'Pure Spirit' album was named as one the top 100 Roots/Dub albums of all time in 21th June-4th July '97 issue of 'DJ Magazine.
Big respect to 'DJ Magazine' and to all those that have bought it.It is things like this that make us know we re doing and making the right moves.
