PURE SPIRIT
Excellent album from the stable of the top UK sound system which follows the best selling 'Wrath Of Jah'.
Blood Shanti are the sound's heavy Roots incarnation whose first release 'Tear down Babylon' is widely regarded as one of the most essential 90's dub classics. Pure Spirit is a strong Roots album with a mix of vocal and dub cuts with heavyweight rhythms, all of which have been tried and tested on the Aba Shanti sound.
A 12 track CD which includes new mixes of 'Tear down Babylon' and 'Children Of The Most High'.

Album review Stepping Forward Dub (Shanti Mix) 38 Dub Band Alaska/Equal Rights CD 29-06-1998 38 Dub Band is actually a French band that was formed in the early nineties. Throughout the years they have developed their sound and have become one of the leading bands in Paris' reggae scene. This mini-album, mixed by London based Blood Shanti, is their first release and the precursor of a 12 track album that will be released at the end of 1998. All tracks are played by "live" musicians, who provide an inspiring colourful and full sound, which probably best can be qualified as instrumentals flavoured with reggae, dub and jazz ingredients. 38 Dub Band truly delivers a nice first effort.
